We love a good fundraiser here at RSVP, doing our part to give back to those who need it most. Over the years we’ve tried and tested a range of different fun methods to help raise money for good causes. From table football championships, sports days and costume competitions, to our absolute favourite event to keep going back to, the Great RSVP Bake Sale!

To kick start the month of August, our plan was to raise some money to donate to the wonderful folk at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Great Ormond Street, a children’s and young patient’s hospital based in the London Borough of Camden, admits 618 patients every day from all across the UK. They do incredible things to help support sick children and their families, both medically and pastorally, as well as conduct potentially life-saving research for pediatric medicine.

We wanted to come up with something fitting for the cause and keep our collective sweet tooth as a company satisfied as well, so we wracked our brains for what we could do…

The answer, of course, was simple. Sweets!

We purchased a large decorative glass jar and a mix of sweets for our very own ‘Guess the Jar Competition’.

The sweets were carefully counted out as they were placed into the jar, which sat at our reception desk for an entire week. Staff were then invited to take their guess at how many sweets there were in the jar as they passed, 50p to play. The nearest guess to the actual amount of sweets in the jar would win them the entire lot!

Guesses ranged from the mid-300s right up to over 4000 (a very generous guess)! No one could quite decide on how many sugary goodies they thought we had manged to cram into that gorgeous jar.

In the end the top prize went to Peter Doczi, one of our account managers with a guess of 1314, just one off of the actual sweet total of 1315! An incredible guess and a well-deserved win for Peter!

Peter has promised to share his winnings with his team… so long as he can restrain himself from eating all of the sweets himself of course…!

Make sure to brush your teeth afterwards if you eat all of those Peter!

All in all we raised a respectable £75.00 to give to Great Ormond Street Hospital and we hope that this money will help the hospital continue with the phenomenal work that they do.

We would like to say a big thank you to all of our staff who participated and to those that donated money to the cause. Stay tuned to our blog to keep up to date with our future fundraising ventures as and when they happen!
