What a day we had on Friday! This year RSVP took part in hosting a coffee morning to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan provides medical, financial and emotional support whilst also campaigning for better cancer care. As cancer affects so many of us, we wanted to show our support by taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Last year people all over the UK hosted their own coffee mornings; raising a grand total of £29.5 million!
So we channelled our inner Mary Berry and got baking. We were so impressed by the amount of effort our staff put in! Macmillan were kind enough to send us a pack with everything we needed – bunting, table cloths, decorations for our cakes and even games to play. As soon as the office was decorated, our staff wasted no time in buying the sweet and savoury snacks – both homemade and shop bought.
At the end of the day we were left with just a few crumbs – our coffee morning was indeed a success. With the cake sale and generous donations from our staff, we raised £260! And with our Manchester office also taking part raising £211, that’s a grand total of £471 donated to Macmillan Cancer Support from RSVP.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our staff and very proud to have taken part in such a fantastic cause!
