When it comes to keeping your staff motivated, you’d probably instantly think of buying prizes for them to win or giving them a pay rise; normally always something money-orientated. And while we’re certain no one would turn down that pay rise, it’s not always the best way to keep your staff working hard.

So we’ve come up with a few ways to keep your agents focused without spending a penny!

 

Set Goals

Give your staff something to work towards. Take the time (or get a supervisor) to work with them on a one to one basis. Listen to their calls regularly, always making sure you’re looking out for where improvements can be made and always make sure they’re working towards a new goal. Remember, everyone wants to feel like they’ve achieved something, and once they have achieved their goal, give them recognition! They will appreciate your efforts as much as you will theirs.

 

Get to Know Them

They may work for you, but this doesn’t mean you can’t get to know them on a more personal level! Find out what their hobbies and interests are. Build personal relationships with your staff. If you treat them with respect, they will respect you in return.

 

Listen

Your staff talk and listen to customers all day. By asking your agents questions, you’re showing that you care, and by listening to what they have to say, you might just learn something to help you improve your business!

 

It’s very important that your staff know you value them; and it’s even more vital that you demonstrate it on a regular basis. And remember you can do this without spending money! As long as your staff always know their work is appreciated, your business will go from strength to strength!
