According to Martin McTague, the Policy Director for the Federation of Small Businesses, it is the 5.7 million small businesses in the UK that are truly the engine of our economy. Each year, for the past 5 years, the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has released a report to celebrate this fact, titled 1000 Companies to Inspire Britain, listing some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in the UK.

RSVP first appeared in the LSEG’s prestigious report two years ago in 2016, and this year we have been chosen yet again! Mark Abernethy, RSVP’s Managing Director said that he was ‘delighted to receive this recognition particularly against the backdrop of the challenges brought about by Brexit, GDPR and revised Ofcom guideline. We are thrilled to be part of this list for the second time in three years’.

To be selected for this list, companies must be active and registered in the UK and their average annual turnover growth rate is calculated over a 3-year with calculations weighted to favour latest-year growth. Eligible companies are then separated into their Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) groupings and ranked within each SIC sector according to their individual growth.  RSVP’s inclusion in this year’s list shows that we have outperformed our sector averages and proudly marks us as a leader and an important force in the telecommunications industry.

Dr. Adam Marshall, the Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC), states in this year’s LSEG 1000 Companies report that ‘[g]reat people sit at the heart of every great business. The best businesses, like those recognised in this report, understand that their success relies on talent and skills’. We could not agree more. It is the consistent enthusiasm and hard work of our talented staff that has put where it is today, and we could not be more grateful. Dr. Marshall continues to say that ‘[n]urturing this talent and investing in training, while creating inspiring working environments, encourages committed teams that drive a company forward’. This is why here at RSVP we make every effort to support our staff with both their endeavours inside the company, as well as their professional pursuits in creative work outside of the office. Keeping staff active, engaged and driven keep a business growing, and as Dr. Marshall says: ‘People are the backbone of business success.’

The 1000 Companies report forms a significant part of the London Stock Exchange Group’s broader campaign to support high-growth companies within the UK. To find out more about the LSEG and to read the full report, you can find information at the LSEG website here:

This summer marks RSVP’s 30th birthday and so to be recognised for our strengths and continued growth in this momentous year is a wonderful achievement. We can’t wait to find out what our next 30 years will bring.
